“The first step in natural healing is responsibility. Natural healing is about taking control of your life and being responsible for everything that goes in and out of your body, mind and spirit.”

My Story
I’m Glenn Sadowsky. I grew up on Long Island, New York for the first 8 years of my life and developed asthma and allergies at the age of 5. My parents tried everything they could, yet nothing seemed to help. They got rid of family pets, kept the house dust free and gave me allergy shots and tried chiropractic in the mid 1960’s before anyone really knew much about it.
Nothing really seemed to help. My parents agonized over the decision of how to treat me and finally sent me to the Children’s Asthmatic Research Institute and Hospital in Denver. It was a very difficult choice for them to send me there, as it would require that I be separated from the family for a year or two. I lived there for 18 months and was experimented on with drugs and other therapies. My asthma subsided and I was released 18 months later. Due to financial constraints, my mother visited me once during that period for a week. This was an extremely traumatic time of my life that I will never forget.
My allergies and asthma returned and I was on and off drugs for my entire childhood.
Now that I’m more educated about food, exercise and vitality, what I can definitely say about my childhood is that as a family we ate what everyone did in suburban America….Junk…from TV dinners and Hawaiian Punch to Hostess Ho-Ho’s, and Twinkies, MacDonald’s, Taco Bell and KFC. We ate it all. My parents just weren’t educated as to how much of a role nutrition played in asthma and allergies. Apparently neither were my physicians.
I went to the University of California at Santa Barbara, and was introduced to Tai Chi. Tai Chi and acupuncture really made a difference for me. I was also introduced to organic farming and foods, and learned a lot about cooking, raw foods, getting into the garden to grow my own veggies and fruits. One thing led to another, and I decided to study massage, hypnosis, breath-work and conscious living. This all eventually led me to study Qi Gong and then off to Acupuncture School.
I don’t know where I would be in my life if I hadn’t changed course. Organic, sustainable living, natural medicine and having a wonderful family have made my life so special, I just can’t imagine life any other way.
I currently live in Seaside, California, with my wife, Melissa. We have two grown adults we raised, Liyanna and Tivon, both of whom live north of San Francisco. We have a nice little city garden with veggies, fruit trees, berries, herbs and flowers. We enjoy beautiful beaches, hiking, music, dance, backcountry trips and getting together for wonderful meals with friends.
